About Upper Mustang Trek - 14 days

Upper Mustang Trek is the most pleasant trekking route in Nepal which allows you to have a raw experience of trekking in one of the best-beaten trekking routes of Nepal. It has only been less than 3 decades since trekking in this region was allowed for foreigners. But the region has been able to attract thousands of travellers every year even though it recently opened a trekking route in Nepal.

Thousands of trekkers make their way to this region to explore its unique geographical features of this region. The walled caves are one of the significant reasons people travel to this region. Moreover, the region is surrounded by the Trans Himalayas which will give a feeling of being in Tibet. Likewise, stone houses built in layers are another important aspect of the trek. Thus, to explore these things people opt for Upper Mustang Trek.

The kingdom of Lo, Upper Mustang is called the forbidden kingdom as the doors for foreigners were not opened until 1992. As the kingdom is so remote and isolated, the culture and the tradition of the place have remained intact and untouched. While on the trek you can meet some innocent faces who will always welcome you with a smile on them.

As the region is remote, it is one of the restricted areas of Nepal. You required a special type of permit and should trek along these routes under the supervision of the clients. Moreover, it requires a pair of travellers.  As the place is a rain shadow area, the region faces monsoons rarely. Thus you can trek in the region all year round. No monsoon rain can cause a hindrance for you to travel in this region.

While the Upper Mustang Trek offers an incredible experience, those looking for an alternative trekking route in the Annapurna region might consider the Annapurna Circuit Trek. This trek also showcases diverse landscapes and cultures, providing trekkers with the chance to experience the Annapurna range and interact with local communities. However, Upper Mustang remains unique due to its deep cultural ties, isolation, and Tibetan influence, making it a distinctive and unforgettable adventure."

All in all Upper Mustang Trek is a beautiful journey where you will get to explore the different sides of geographical as well as cultural aspects of Nepal. The people and the place, as well as their faith, ethics, and morality, are remarkable to learn about. So join Himalayan Ecological Trekking to discover all the highlights of the Upper Mustang.
