Himalayan Ecological Trekking invites you to join the beautiful journey towards the mid-eastern part of Nepal for the Mt Makalu Base Camp Trek. Mt Makalu (8481m) is the fifth-highest mountain in the world, and friends adjoin with the other glistening mountains of the Everest range. Not many have explored this trail; hence, it is perfect if you are searching for crowd-free treks in Nepal. Likewise, while on the trek, you will not see many tourists but more about the culture and lifestyle of the place.

The Makalu Base Camp Trek begins with a scenic flight to Tumlingtar from Kathmandu and an adventurous drive to Num. From the beginning of this trail, you will get accustomed to the thrilling part of trekking in Nepal. The trekking trail entails passing through a beautiful and dense rhododendron forest. If you are trekking from March to the Mid of May, which is the best time for trekking in Nepal, you will be able to see the forest covered with fully blossomed rhododendron flowers.

Makalu Base Camp Trek also includes a picturesque view of the world’s highest mountains: Mt. Everest (8848m) along with other snowcapped mountains like Mount Lhotse, Mount Chamlung, and the Makalu Mountain itself. The trek is a bit challenging and long, and requires motivation and a very good fitness level to complete it without hindrance. The trekkers who are keen on being around greenery, a tranquil environment, deep valleys, and the sound of the river, then this trek is perfect for them. And adventurous enough to walk through the rocky trails, glaciers, and high-altitude lakes.

Besides encountering all the glories of Mother Nature, the trek also includes passing extraordinary passes named Keke pass (4230m) and Tutu La pass (4200m) and the subtropical valley of the Arun River basin. The trail continues to many edges, which requires doing ups and downs through the Barun valley, which is totally off the beaten trail.

The trail also includes passing through Makalu Barun National Park, which shelters many endangered animals like red pandas and snow leopards. The national parks also house musk deer, wild boar, wild yak, Himalayan Thar, and more than 70 other species of mammal, 440 species of bird, and more than 3000 species of plants.

All in all, Makalu Base Camp Trek is an awesome trekking destination in Nepal. From exploring a high-altitude lake to a deep valley, you will get to see everything. So, hop on a journey and make it your best trek in Nepal with Himalayan Ecological Trekking.
