According to an old myth, Lord Shiva drank the poison excavated from the Sea. To save the world, he engulfed the poison but couldn’t endure the pain. Therefore, he threw his trident on the rock eventually the water came out of it. He drank the water which kept the poison in his neck. He got the name Nilkantha from that incident. The same water is at the holy Gosainkunda Lake. It is the source of the famous Trishuli River, well known for rafting in Nepal. After the scenic exploration of the Gosainkunda Lake trekkers will cross the pass and head to the Helambu side. From this place, trekkers will be transported back to Kathmandu.
