This is the 3rd phase in the Great Himalayan Trail. This shift is also comparatively shorter than other shifts of the long trek. In this shift, you will be travelling to the beautiful Langtang region of Nepal. Langtang is mostly popular for its rich vegetation and bird watching too. So, if you are a nature or bird lover, this Shift is perfect for you. The rich culture and wild vegetation of Langtang are dear to domestic as well as international travellers.

Langtang region is one of the easily accessible trekking destinations of Nepal. But it is still one of the least-travelled trails in comparison to the majority of trekkers. The valley embraces its Budhhisttamang culture, which is one of the highlights of the trek. Likewise, the stunning views of Dorje Lakpa (6990m) and Langtang Lirung(7245m) are seen throughout most of the journey. The trek traverses dense Langtang National Park, which shelters Himalayan pheasants, Himalayan deer, Himalayan bears, monkeys, and endangered animals like the red panda. Together with that, the beautiful and vast yak pastures are visibly pleasing.

The trail starts with a drive to Chutara from Kathmandu and includes going through many charming traditional villages. Before commencing the trek, you will spend a day visiting UNESCO-listed world heritage sites of Kathmandu valley, where you will visit places like Swayambhu, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. You will also visit the ancient monastery Kyanjin Gompa, which is located near Tserko. Also learn more about the people of the Langtang region, their culture, customs, and traditions. Get a chance to witness the Syabru dance, which is a gem of the valley.

For those who want to trek remote or off the beaten path and discover the glory of the Langtang region, they should trek for this Shift. It is visually pleasing and, at the same time, will give a thrilling experience in the Himalayan terrain of Nepal. Join Himalayan Ecological Trekking on this amazing journey and make some meaningful memories from trekking in Nepal.
