Whether you are a fervent bird watcher or a photographer, the Langtang Birdwatching trip takes you into the subtropical and alpine fairyland of birds and wildlife to a place where a serene, crystal clear lake glistens in the sunlight.

Not far from the country’s capital, the Langtang National Park is just a 4-hour drive north of the bustling city of Kathmandu. The park spans an area of 1,710 km2 (660 sq mi) and rests at an elevation range of 6,450 m (21,160 ft) in the central Himalayas. Dominated by the southwest summer monsoon, the park displays diverse vegetation and ecosystems that range from upper tropical forests to alpine vegetation. At an elevation of 4,380 m rests Gosainkunda lake, and Down flow the Langtang Khola, Bhote Koshi, and Trisuli rivers. No wonder, it is heaven for birdwatchers, photographers, and wildlife enthusiasts.

Given the abundance of birds in the park (380 species according to Bird Conservation Nepal and DNPWC), it makes for a fantastic place to go hiking and birdwatching in the Himalayas. Ibisbill, one of the famous birds, spends its summers and breeds here. The park is a significant bird area (IBA) of the nation as well as the world due to its record of 10 GTS (globally-threatened species) and 49 nationally threatened species of birds.

Also, it is home to various species of rare, threatened plants and animals, including the elusive Red Panda and Snow Leopard. The Himalayan Tahr, Himalayan Black Bear, Musk Deer, Assamese Monkey, Red Wolf, and Tibetan Sheep are only a few examples of other species. Several wetlands may be found inside the park, including the most revered alpine lake in the world, Gosainkunda, which is also a significant pilgrimage site.

Moreover, Langtang Valley Trek is one of the most well-liked locations for adventurous trekking in Nepal. Langtang Lirung is the tallest peak that can also be seen from Kathmandu (7250 m).

A camping-based schedule for Langtang National Park and the Bird Trek is created for everyone who enjoys nature and adventure (a lodge option is also available). Wherever possible, camping will take place in more distant locations, and most days' hiking will be shorter in order to capture the greatest number of birds.

The Langtang Birdwatching Tour/Trek can be custom-made based on your time constraints and desired length and preferences. Should you have any queries or questions, feel free to call or drop us an email for further details.
